What to Expect When You Visit Eagle Rock Orthodontics
We understand that visiting the orthodontist — especially for the first time — can bring questions and a bit of nervousness. At Eagle Rock Orthodontics, we do everything we can to make each visit simple, clear, and comfortable for every patient, no matter their age or stage of treatment.
Your First Visit: What Happens During the Initial Consultation
Your first appointment is where we get to know you and your smile goals. Here’s what to expect:
- A full orthodontic evaluation with Dr. Garen Utudjian
- Digital X-rays or photos, if needed
- A review of your dental and medical history
- A custom treatment plan, including options like Braces, Invisalign, or WildSmiles Braces
- Time for you to ask questions and discuss finances or insurance
This visit is typically 45–60 minutes long. There’s no pressure to begin treatment that day—we’re here to give you the information you need to decide what’s right for you.
Routine Orthodontic Appointments
Once treatment begins, you’ll return to our office every few weeks for checkups and adjustments. These visits are much quicker—usually 20 to 30 minutes—and help us:
- Track your progress
- Make adjustments to wires or aligners
- Answer questions or address discomfort
- Keep your treatment on schedule
We’ll always explain what we’re doing and how it helps move you closer to your smile goals.
After Your First Appointment
If you choose to move forward with treatment, we’ll guide you through next steps including:
- Scheduling your first fitting or placement visit
- Reviewing care instructions for your new appliance
- Setting up a payment plan and insurance coordination
You’ll leave knowing exactly what to expect next.

Dental Visits During Orthodontic Treatment
Regular dental cleanings are still essential during orthodontic care. Continue seeing your general dentist for checkups and cleanings every six months, or more often if recommended.
If your dentist needs to coordinate with us about your treatment, we’re happy to collaborate.
